The mission of the Technology Department of the Waco Independent School District is to provide outstanding customer service for the integration and maintenance of the computer network system in the pursuit of enhanced student achievement. The integration of technology and technology services should be provided in a manner that becomes a natural and transparent component of the varied and continuous learning opportunities afforded all learners in the school, home, and community.

The Technology Department is composed of these sections: Support Services, Network Support, Management Information Systems, and Instructional Technology.

The Support Services section provides desktop support throughout the District. The section also operates a Help Desk for District personnel.

The Network Support section maintains the District network infrastructure which provides worldwide connectivity.

The Management Information Systems section provides support of the District's main frame type of computer systems for data processing, reporting, and accounting purposes. Support is also provided for campus and administrative offices for all aspects of the collection and reporting of PEIMS information.

The Instructional Technology group provides support and training in the uses and applications of technology. This group focuses on the enhancement of classroom and administrative technology integration.
