Waco ISD is committed to seeing each of its students receive a quality education and to celebrating each student's graduation.  Pregnant and Parenting students face unique challenges upon their time, resources and energy.  The services described below are some of the ways that Waco ISD strives to offer extra support to these students with the vision of their successful completion of school.support services

Social Work Services

  • Intake & assessment of student needs
  • Individual & group counseling
  • Transportation assistance
  • Referrals & assistance locating resources
  • Monitoring of grades, behavior & attendance
  • Child development & parenting information
  • Assistance with child care subsidy (ccs) & child support

Health Services

  • Health monitoring by campus nurse
  • Health related accomodations on campus
  • Regular weight & vital sign checks
  • Referral to health resources

Home Instruction Services

  • Up to 6 weeks of home instruction from date of delivery
  • Provision of certified teacher as lisason between student and campus
  • 4 hours of weekly home instruction
  • Collection & delivery of school assignments to student's home
  • Assistance with transition back to school

  • Flexible, self-paced learning environment
  • Licensed day care for parenting students (serving ages 6 weeks to 18 months)
  • Eligibility for enrollment based on stated requirements; space is limited
