What happens when all four of the public schools in one neighborhood change principals over the summer?  More than 100 members of the Carver Neighborhood Association did not want to wait until school started to find out.  So that is why the Association planned a special event to introduce the new principals to their new neighbors.

The Carver Neighborhood Association’s “Meet the Principal Night” was held in the cafeteria of G.W. Carver Middle School.  The four principals in attendance were:  Marcus Walker, principal of Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy; Tra Hall, principal of J.H. Hines Elementary; Dr. Richard Fletcher, principal of G.L. Wiley Opportunity Center and Ed Love, principal of G.W. Carver Middle.

Each principal was formerly introduced, and each was given time to address the audience from the podium.   The audience heard personal testimonies and gained insight on how the principals will rely on past experience to achieve their vision of success for the coming year.  After each principal finished speaking, the audience was invited to ask questions of the panel.

The evening also included drawings for door prizes and special entertainment by members of the G.W. Carver Martial Arts Team.  At the conclusion of the meeting, all of the guests were invited to stay for a hot dog supper and fellowship.
