Waco ISD students from Tennyson Middle School, Indian Spring Middle School and Cesar Chavez Middle School competed for top honors at this year's Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 8 Orchestra Auditions.

Of the competitors, Paige DuPuy (violin) and Sophia Swenke (viola), both from Tennyson Middle School, earned seats in the All-Region Middle School Orchestra.

In addition, three students from Tennyson Middle School earned seats as alternates in the All-Region Middle School Orchestra:
Esme Houston (Cello), Dylan Rivera (violin), and Walter Rusek (bass).  

The Tennyson Middle School and Cesar Chavez School orchestras are directed by Ms. Valerie Klem; David Weigert is the director of the Indian Spring Middle School Orchestra.
