Two first-time candidates have filed for a place on the ballot in the upcoming Waco ISD School Board election.

Colbert Murphy, a language tutor, is seeking election to the Place 2 (District 2) seat that was vacated by Alex Williams in January. If elected, Murphy would serve a one-year term that expires in May 2015.

Armando Arvizu has filed for the Place 7 (At-Large) seat presently held by Cary DuPuy who is seeking a second three-year term.

Place 2, Place 7 and Place 3 (District 3) are up for election on Saturday, May 10, 2014. The filing period for a Places 3 and 7 has expired. For Position 2, the filing period ends Monday, March 10.
