Brook StudentsBrook Avenue Elementary ELL students are experiencing growth in all academic areas.  Teachers and students alike are striving for individual successes as they monitor growth and set goals.  One of those goals is to improve knowledge of academic vocabulary.  Greater understanding and use of academic vocabulary is being accomplished with the use of word walls, journal writing, memorization, and weekly assessments.  These activities can be seen school wide.  All grade levels are engaged in academics and  fine arts, such as: (1) Pre-K students enjoy counting, (2) Kindergarten students are progressing in their reading skills, (3) First grade students show amazing aptitudes in Science, (4) Second grade students incorporate skills learned in English instruction in their daily activities, (5) Third grade students show growth in all areas of STAAR preparation,  (6) Fourth grade students are Hands on Learningparticipating in a weekly Writing Camp, and through this opportunity, are learning ways to incorporate creative thoughts into their personal writing, (7) Fifth grade students shared their vocal talents by participating in the Choral Festival.
