WHS Head Soccer Coach Kris KahlerCoach Kahler (Waco High head soccer coach) will be serving as Head Coach at the June 14th Texas All-Star Soccer Cup in Temple. The District is honored by his participation in this annual event.

The Temple Convention and Visitors Bureau, Belton Chamber of Commerce, and Townsquare Media Partner with TASCO for the Second Annual Texas All-Star Soccer Cup!

Wilson Kerzee Field 610 E 6th Street  Belton, TXWith nearly 1 million soccer households in Texas, Townsquare Media and the Temple Convention and Visitors Bureau are honored to host the state’s second annual Texas All-Star Soccer Cup! Games will take place at Wilson Kerzee Field
(610 E 6th Street, Belton, TX) on Saturday, June 14, featuring North and South All-Star squads, as selected by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches and Officials (TASCO). Rosters, including players from all across Texas, will be finalized in late June. To learn more about TASCO, you may visit www.tasco-soccer.com.

The girls’ game kicks off at 11:00 a.m., followed by the boys’ game at 1:30 p.m. Both will be broadcast live on KTEM-AM, with on-air coverage beginning at 10:30 a.m. and continuing through the final trophy presentation. New this year, running in conjunction with the soccer games, is our “Family Fun Day,” a great event for the whole family with face painting, bounce houses, hobby vendors, and food vendors.

Additionally, we will be proud to host a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Special Topics Diploma course on the same day as the All-Star games. This course is open to any coaches, whether or not they are members of the NSCAA. Registration is open now.

While in Temple for the event, players and coaches will be treated to a tour of Fort Hood, where they will have lunch with active duty soldiers. “We are excited to welcome back and be a part of the most significant sporting event in Temple,” says Bourdon Wooten, Townsquare Media General Manager, “to create a great experience for players, and to continue to expand this event for years to come.”

General admission tickets are $10, and can be purchased online or in person at the Belton Chamber of Commerce. U16 and younger soccer players who attend the game wearing their team jersey will be admitted to the games for FREE!
