Education Service Center Region 12 recently was the site of a Go Baby Go workshop where Special Education teachers from throughout the area gathered to learn how to modify toy racecars so they can be enjoyed by children with mobility impairments.

Go Baby Go was launched in 2006 by Dr. Cole Galloway, a physical therapist from Delaware who began modifying off-the-shelf toy racecars to provide mobility to children with crawling and walking problems, empowering them to be part of the action at home, in the daycare center, at school, and on the playground.

A Special Education team from Waco ISD modified a car for Antwone, a special needs student from Bell's Hill Elementary. He was little apprehensive at first but Antwone soon fell in love with his new ride. The team of educators and Marilyn Lockhart, the child's mom, were all smiles as Antwone zipped down the hallways of the ESC.
