In Waco ISD, students are offered different options regarding dual credit coursework.
- Miscellaneous College Credit - Students might want to challenge themselves with various higher-level classes by enrolling in a few dual credit classes during their high school programs. Currently, academic dual credit courses* are held on one or both of the high school campuses for the following courses:
- Articulation into McLennan Community College's +1 program - Through this program, students complete 18-23 dual credit hours during their high school program. Upon high school graduation, McLennan's +1 program guarantees these students an Associates degree within one calendar year of high school graduation by following a prescribed track of courses. This is designed to equip students with a degree more quickly and enable them to transfer on to a 4-year baccalaureate program, saving money and decreasing time in college.
- Participation in the Early College High School program (coming fall 2016) - This program allows students to begin dual credit coursework during freshman year and continuing with progressively more dual credit courses through senior year, allowing the student to graduate simultaneously with both a high school diploma and an Associates degree.
* other workforce or specialty dual credit courses are offered through the Career and Technology Department.
