Waco ISD is the proud recipient of a multi-million dollar ConnectEd grant from Apple. As a result of this generous grant, each student at Bell's Hill Elementary and three other Waco ISD elementary schools will receive an iPad. These state-of-the-art learning tools will enable students to connect with topics and express themselves like never before. Additionally, each teacher and administrator at the four schools will receive an iPad Mini and MacBook Air to help support and inspire their students.
In addition to providing devices, Apple has partnered with the schools to upgrade wireless infrastructure and provide professional development for the teachers so they understand the technology and are able to effectively integrate it into their classrooms in order to enhance the learning experience. Teachers at the four Waco ISD elementary school received their devices earlier this school year and have been working with the Apple team to prepare for a successful student roll-out.
Besides Bell’s Hill Elementary, other schools benefitting from Apple's ConnectEd grant include Kendrick Elementary, J.H. Hines Elementary and Provident Heights Elementary.
Waco ISD is charged with educating a generation of self-motivated learners who will be prepared for the workforce of the future. The district believes the new devices paired with passionate and well-supported teachers will enable deeper creativity and learning. The ConnectEd initiative will surely open the door for our future dreamers, inventors and leaders.
