A group of superintendents from the Central Texas area met at the Waco ISD warehouse on January 20 to address childhood hunger by helping pack meals for Pack of Hope. Superintendents from 14 participating school districts each packed a week’s supply of food for their respective students who participate in the program that exists to erase child hunger in McLennan County.

The non-profit organization supplies participating school districts and their eligible students with backpacks of food from Friday to Sunday. Nutritional meals are packed at the Waco ISD warehouse and distributed to the identified students each Friday through an anonymous backpack system, insuring the students have healthy meals when they are not in school.
