Waco ISD "2016 Teacher of the Year" finalists announced

Waco ISD has announced its "Teacher of the Year" finalists for 2016. A close race has resulted in three finalists in the elementary division and four in the secondary division.

Elisha Oliver (Bell's Hill), Rachel Lieber (Hillcrest PDS) and Rachel Edson (Mountainview) are the "Elementary Teacher of the Year" finalists.

Natalie Nelson (Tennyson), Sharon Orcutt (GWAMA), Nick Davoust (University High) and Thomas Draper (Waco High) are the "Secondary Teacher of the Year" finalists.

The two winners will be surprised in their classrooms by the superintendent in early May and honored at the Waco ISD Board of Trustees meeting on May 26.
