Waco High School – Academic Achiever’s Banquet
Tuesday, May 10, 2016
6 p.m. at the Baylor Club
The Waco ISD Advanced Academics Department honored the 2016 Waco High School Academic Achievers at a banquet held at the Baylor Club on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. In keeping with the longstanding tradition of this event, each student was accompanied by a family member, and an educator who has had a significant influence on their academic success.
Waco ISD Academic Achievers are sophomore, junior, and seniors who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 96.5. Students receive a letter jacket for earning the Academic Achiever recognition. Those students earning the award in subsequent or multiple years are awarded additional letter “bars” for their jacket.
The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Scott McLanahan, Waco ISD’s Director of Advanced Academic Services.
This year, the Waco High School graduating seniors each received a copy of their college admission letter that was enlarged and framed.
