The Purpose of the HOSA Organization is to develop Leadership and technical skills through a program of motivation, Awareness and Recognition. As a part of HOSA,students are about to refine their career skills by competing at the Regional, State and National Level. this Year two students from the University High School AJ Moore Academy to qualifed to Compete at the state level.
2016 Skill USA Texas Leadership and Skills Conference ,Competition Medalist: Waco High School Skill USA Students competed at the district level in their respective CTE Subjects. The Following students Advanced to Compete at the State level in Corpus Christi, with one team advancing to Nationals in Louisville, Ky this June.
CTE STUDENTS OF THE MONTH 2015-16
WISD CTE continues to graduate highly motivated and successful students. Students who take advantage of the career academy offerings coupled with rigorous academic courses graduate better prepared to pursue their academic and career goals. Whether students elect to go straight to work, a 2-year or 4-year college degree, exposure to real-world career activities lays the foundation for Success . To Showcase outstanding students,the CTE Students Of the month recognition program was created . Each month, CTE teachers nominate a Students they feel exemplifies the qualities of leadership, CTE and academic success as well as focused career and academic goals . Students who receive this honor write an essay which includes the strengths of their chosen academy and their plans for after graduation . These essays are featured on the WISD CTE.
