Phonics and English Learners: A Phonics Strategy Toolbox for Teachers of English Learners

Phonics and English Learners: A Phonics Strategy Toolbox for Teachers of English Learners
Posted on 09/09/2016
Come join us at our next English Learner Academy meeting where teachers will learn how to implement and apply holistic and graphophonic reading strategies developed by educational researchers, Judith Cohen and Wendy Cheney. Teachers will also learn syllabication strategies to help English Learners tackle multi-syllabic words as well as word attack strategies that are research-based and can help ELs make the transition from reading in a transparent language to an opaque language. This is a wonderful toolkit for all grade levels, ESL teachers, Bilingual teachers and Dyslexia Specialists.  Come and join us for this insightful and fun interactive session where attendees will also receive instructional resources that they will not only be able to use immediately in the classrooms but students will also love as they are student friendly and highly effective with even the most struggling readers.

If you have ever wanted to engage your ELs in phonics instruction and provide them with strategies to tackle unknown text, this a great English Learner Academy meeting that you do not want to miss!
